In-service training of technical staff and assistant instrument mechanics continued and also training of apprentices in association with the Engineer (Training) of the Electrical and Mechanical Office.

11.133 Assistance was given to a number of officers on matters concerning applications for loans, housing problems, probate procedure, children's education and employment, employment for retired officers and families of deceased officers. Visits to staff in hospital, at home, or at their place of work were made by the Welfare Officer.
