Laboratory at North Point and at the branch laboratory at Farm Road, Kowloon. The two quarry laboratories at Mt. Butler and Diamond Hill test the materials produced at these quarries.

The total number of tests carried out by the laboratories during the year was 88,649, an increase of 13% over last year. Of the tests, 9,994 were for private firms. More soil tests than previously were carried out during the year.

Various new items of testing equipment were purchased for the North Point and Farm Road Laboratories.
