4.22 This Branch is under the overall control of the Government Building Services Engineer and is organised into two main Divisions, New Works and Maintenance. The New Works Division, headed by the Chief Building Services Engineer, is subdivided into five Sections, each under the supervision of a Senior Building Services Engineer, with its complement of Building Services Engineers, Assistant Building Services Engineers, Engineering Assistants and site supervisory staff. Four Sections each support an Architectural Division as well as carrying out building services projects, and one Section supports

Services establishments.

Within the Branch, an additional Section has been created for the purpose of modernizing building services installations in the older Government buildings. The work of this Section is known as Building Services Specific Services and will initiate modernization and improvement works which are beyond the scope of normal maintenance works.

In addition to projects designed within the Architectural Office, the Branch is responsible for the design, specification and the supervision of the installation of building services in buildings designed by private architects on behalf of the Government. The Branch has also commissioned
