7.13. Systematic waste detection was continued on a greatly increased scale and 163 areas were checked. A number of major leaks were discovered and repaired, resulting in a daily saving of over 4 million gallons.

House Service Section

7.14. With separate metering now being required for all new Resettlement estates as well as all new flats, there was an increase of 34 per cent in the number of new meters installed compared with the previous year.
