SURVEY DIVISION

General

4.38. The year was a busy one for the Survey Division. A team of Gravity Surveyors visited the Colony in connexion with the International Geographical Year and made a series of observations the positions of which were fixed by this office.

4.39. H.M.S. Dampier, the Royal Navy Survey Ship, was in the Colony engaged on revision of charts and the Survey Division co-operated by supplying Triangulation and Height Data and detail survey of the land affected.
