302. The demand for water again increased during the year, the average daily consumption during periods when supply had to be restricted to only 5 hours per day being

303. The hours of supply, as in recent years, had to be severely restricted, and from 1st April to 20th May and 17th August to 2nd September only a 5 hour supply per day could be given. A five hour per day period during August, caused by a very dry spell in the middle of the rainy season, was very unusual, but a little compensation was received in that the late rains enabled a better supply to be given during the dry winter months than in previous years.
304. The usual problems attendant upon drastic curtailment of the hours of supply were again much in evidence, particularly during the 5 hour per day periods. While the reservoirs were
