121. Air Freight Cargo Building, Kai Tak. Plans were prepared for a building at Kai Tak Airport for the inspection of air freight. The accommodation includes an inspection hall, bonded store and offices. Work was completed in December.
Royal Hong Kong Defence Force
122. Plans were prepared for additional stores at the Headquarters. Construction commenced in September and was completed in December.
Royal Observatory
123. Radio Sonde Station. Sketch plans were prepared for a new generator shed and garage.
Printing Department
124. New Printing Workshops at North Point. Mr. S. E. Faber, A.F.C., B.Sc., A.C.G.I., D.I.C., M.I.C.E., M.I.Struct.E., was appointed as architect for this scheme. This two-storey reinforced concrete framed structure is 352 ft. long x 70 ft. wide and is designed to carry an additional floor. The ground floor consists of a printing shop covering 15,000 sq. ft., a rota printing shop, a camera room with dark room attached, ready paper, stationery and miscellaneous stores and works lavatories, together with a general office with a public sales counter, private offices for the Government Printer and his assistant, and office lavatories. In addition, 2 offices and watchmen's room are provided for the staff of the Sand Monopoly Depot.
