Fire Brigade

38. Kowloon Fire Station. Owing to the nature of the site at the corner of Prince Edward Road and Tong Mei Road, piling was necessary. This piling was started in January, 1952, and completed at the end of March, 1952, by which time tenders had been called for the main building. 41. Alterations to Post Office Building. Work continued on the modernization and improvement of the Post Office Building generally, with particular reference to the portion of the building occupied by the Post Office. A goods lift and two mechanical hoists to facilitate the sorting of mail were installed.

42. Sham Shui Po Post Office. Working drawings were completed during the year for a sub post office at Sham Shui Po. It was decided, however, that the erection of this building should not be proceeded with.
