62. Water Meters:-The number of meters examined and repaired was 5,552. Eight meters were tested in accordance with Regulation 9 of the Water Works Regulations.
The number of meters on the island at the end of the year was:

Maintenance of Praya Walls and Piers-Praya Walls and Piers were maintained in a satisfactory condition. Repairs were carried out to the following piers: -Blake, French Street, Jubilee Street passenger ferry, Harbour Office, King Shan, Murray, Queen's, Sai Wan Ho and Tonnochy Road.
The Refuse Boat Piers were maintained in satisfactory condition; the conservancy junk pier at Whitfield was reconstructed.
The hoists on the passenger ferry berth at Jubilee Street were maintained in good condition.
A number of rocks were discovered in a shallow patch near Tonnochy Road pier and were removed by blasting to give a depth of 8.0 feet chart datum.

64. Maintenance of Public Cemetery :-The Cemeteries were generally maintained in a satisfactory manner. paths in the Colonial Cemetery were laid with 24″ granolithic paving.
