Fanling-Kowloon Road.-Resurfacing Lok Ma Chau Road from its junction with main road to approach path to Police Station. Repairs to embankment North of Au Tau Bridge, to on Kam Tin Road and to embankment North of channelling Un Long Village.
Tarpainting two miles of main road between Un Long and Castle Peak. Construction of Car Parks between 10th to 13th Miles-Castle Peak Road. Construction of subsoil drainage and repairs to road surface in cutting at Tsun Wan Village. Repairs to invert of single span bridge at 81 Miles. Strengthening and improving the road surface from Fanling Cross Roads (at the junction with approach road to the Royal Hong Kong Golf Club) to Sheung Shui Railway Station, also to Level Crossing between Fanling and Sheung Shui Railway Stations. The work included margins, channels and 4"/6" macadam tarpainted with chippings.
Fanling-Sha Tau Kok Road.-Strengthening and improving the road surface in the vicinity of Sha Tau Kok Police Station for a distance of about one mile including margins, channels and 4"/6" macadam tarpainted with chippings together with provision of subsoil drainage.
Sha Tau Kok-Sheung Shui Patrol Path.-Provision of passing places at regular intervals. Construction of extra span to existing bridge near Sheung Shui.
The following are particulars of the area laid during the year:-

97. Maintenance of Sewers, Nullahs, etc.:-Sewers, storm water drains, trained nullahs and concrete channels cleansed, repaired, and maintained in good condition. Sundry repairs were carried out to channels, and improvements effected to rocky streamcourses.
