From the above table it will be seen that an unrestricted 24 hours supply to the whole City was only maintained on 97 days during the year.
The total quantity of water stored in the impounding reservoirs on 1st January amounted to 1301.93 million gallons, of which 351.86 million gallons were in the gravitation reservoirs and 950.07 million gallons in the low-level reservoirs requiring pumping. Storage reached a minimum on the 5th June when the total was 579.69 million gallons, 232.01 million gallons being in the gravitation reservoirs.
The reservoirs were at or over their permanent overflow levels for the following periods.
