HOUSING AND BUILDINGS
49. Senior officers were mainly housed in non-departmental quarters, but there were 39 departmental quarters available for the holders of certain duty posts.
50. There were 469 married junior officers of whom 187 were over- seas officers and 282 local officers. All the overseas officers and 241 of the local officers were housed in departmental quarters.
51. Details regarding departmental accommodation are given in Appendix 7, and details of advanced Police building projects are given in Appendix 8.
52. The following projects were completed during the year:
(i) New temporary post at Chai Wan Resettlement Estate;
(ii) Rank and File married quarters at Wong Tai Sin;
(iii) New Man Kam To Police Post.
53. By the end of the year the following projects were nearing completion:
(i) Rank and File married quarters at Au Tau;
(ii) 48 Inspectorate married quarters at Park Road, Kowloon.
54. The following Police posts were closed during the course of the year:
Chai Wan Police Post at Tytam Gap;
Chai Wan Resettlement Estate, Block 17, Police Post;
Tin Wan Resettlement Estate Police Post;
Tung Tau Resettlement Estate Police Post;
Ngau Tau Kok Resettlement Estate Police Post;
Yau Tong Resettlement Estate Police Post.
FINANCE
55. The approved estimated of expenditure for the year was $125,632,400 and actual expenditure amounted to $124,194,708. A breakdown of actual expenditure in respect of the last three years is shown in Appendix 9. The total revenue collected during the year was $1,162,008.
