ARMS LICENSING

239. At the end of the year a total of 1,429 arms licences was in issue. 82 firearms and over 240,000 rounds of ammunition were surren- dered during the year, while 85 firearms and over 1,700 rounds of ammunition were confiscated.

MISCELLANEOUS LICENCES

240. The Commissioner of Police, in addition to being the Licensing Authority under the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance and the Vehicle and Road Traffic Ordinance is the Licensing Authority under certain other ordinances. At the end of the year the number of licences issued under those ordinances were:
