219. The first child supported by the Welfare Fund to study in Hong Kong University obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in July 1965, and a second, studying in the Chinese Univer- sity of Hong Kong, is expected to graduate as a Bachelor of Arts in July 1966. A further 9 children are to commence University studies in 1966.

220. The Kowloon Boy Scout Troop at present consists of 62 Scouts and 20 Wolf Cubs. The Hong Kong Troop consists of 29 Scouts and the New Territories Troop 30 Scouts. Two out of the three Queen's Scout Medals awarded in Hong Kong in 1965 were awarded to Scouts of the Kowloon Troop.

HEALTH, MEDICAL POSTS AND DENTAL CLINICS

221. The three medical posts and dental clinics, namely Central Medical Post and Dental Clinic, Canton Road Medical Post and Dental Clinic, Cheung Sha Wan Road Medical Post and Dental Clinic, have proved to be extremely valuable in dealing with minor cases of injury or sickness, in that the officers and families can obtain immediate treatment. Close liaison was maintained between the Medical Officers and the Staff Officer (Welfare).

222. The Annual X-Ray Survey of the Force and Civilian Staff showed 55 cases of active tuberculosis as against 46 last year. 10,783 police personnel were X-rayed. 904 members attended the Government Chest Clinic, tuberculosis was found quiescent in 168 cases and arrested in 107. 26 police officers were admitted to hospital for treatments of pulmonary tuberculosis.

223. Regular visits were made to Police patients in Government Hospitals by the Staff Officer (Welfare) and his staff. Books and magazines were regularly distributed to patients and the cost met from the Police Welfare Fund.

CHILD HEALTH SERVICES

224. These are organized by the Medical Department in liaison with the Family Planning Association. Over 50 sessions were held at either Arsenal Street or Cheung Sha Wan which dealt with over 4,000 cases.

225. The four Rank and File Consumers Co-operative Societies at Arsenal Street, Cheung Sha Wan, Tin Kwong Road and Tanner Road
