109. Later in the year these periods were shortened to two weeks and six weeks respectively in order to get more students through the courses. The training programme has been intensified to cover the syllabus effectively and so far the results have been satisfactory.

110. Four Cadre courses and four Company courses were held, attended by 42 Inspectors, 185 NCOs and 653 Constables.

111. Two Company Commanders' Courses were held for twelve newly appointed Assistant Superintendents.

112. A special selection course for promotion from the Rank and File to Inspector was also held. Of the 14 candidates attending, seven passed successfully.

113. The Auxiliary Police Emergency Units held their annual weekend camps in November 1963 and the Hong Kong Island Auxiliary Police Emergency Unit held its annual training week in February 1964. Special emphasis was given to platoon and company riot drill and tactics.
