Corruption involving Government Departments

125. 144 reports involving officers in Government Departments were received. 85 were referred to the Anti-Corruption Branch, and, after investigation, 26 were substantiated and 37 not substantiated. 22 are still under investigation. The remaining 59 reports were dealt with by the appropriate Department. A summary of action taken against Government servants involved in corruption cases which have been heard in court or dealt with departmentally is as follows:

126. 29 members of the public were prosecuted for corruption. Of these, 27 were convicted and 2 acquitted.
