VEHICLES REGISTERED

197. During the year under review a further 5,489 vehicles were registered, bringing the total figure of registered vehicles in the Colony to 43,266. Comparative figures based on the past seven years are attach- ed at Appendix VIII.

ROAD ACCIDENTS

198. There was a total of 15,553 road accidents involving 177 deaths and the increase of 1,630 is the highest since 1954. Comparative figures since 1953 are reproduced below:
