6. Many distinguished persons visited the Colony this year but Police participation in these visits was generally confined to the provi- sion of routine security measures and traffic escorts. Of particular significance to the Force, however, was the visit of Mr. T. C. GREEN, Assistant Secretary to the Home Office and United Kingdom Repre- sentative to the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs.
INSPECTION OF THE FORCE
7. The annual review of the Hong Kong Police and Police Auxilia- ries was conducted by His Excellency the Governor Sir Robert Brown BLACK, K.C.M.G., O.B.E., on 6th December, 1959. His Excellency presented awards to eleven Police Officers.

8. The following officers were honoured by Her Majesty the Queen during the year:

9. Mr. A. C. MAXWELL, C.M.G., retired during the year and was succeeded as Commissioner of Police by Mr. H. W. E. HEATH.
