(vi) & (vii) Coal samples were again regularly examined for the Department of Commerce and Industry, and with the arrival and instal- lation of a new bomb calorimeter these can be more adequately dealt with. Most Departments of the Government make use of the facilities provided by the Laboratory, as shown in Table 6.

(viii) As previously mentioned, an administrative change of some importance took place on the 24th November 1950, when the Laboratory of the Department of Commerce & Industry was closed, and all the analytical work under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance and Dutiable Commodities Ordinance was transferred to this Laboratory. Table 7 givea details of this work, the volume of which is very considerable.
