Report on the Sugarican Fund -

Although the Gamaritan Fund is administered by the Medical and Health Department, it depends entirely on voluntary donations for readily obtained from other sources. financial support. The main purpose of this fund is to provide short-term relief for needy patients and their families when assistance cannot be After thorough investigations by our Medical Social Workers, financial assistance is given to suitable patienta/families who are facing difficulties because of illness, injury, child-birth, death and/or other medical, social situations.

Donations received during the financial year emount to a total of $152,525.00, due to the generosity of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (Charities) Ltd., the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund, the gir Robert ko yung Charitable Fund, Nesora. L1 Shiu-csang & LI Shju-kwan (sona of the lace Mr. LI Po Chun) and the Hong Kong Christian Service. This amount has enabled us to assist a total of 6,218 patients in addition to 18 Fixed deposits at a reserve against future contingencies. wheelchairs provided through the Bir gobert ke gung Charitable Pund.
