I. BUILDINGS or ExtenSIONS TO EXISTING BUILDINGS COMPLETED

(1) Government

(1) Tang Shiu Kör Hospital-A new casualty and maternity hospital al Queen's Road East, Hong Kong Island, with general out-patient, maternal and child health, dermatology and social hygiene clinic. Half of the cost generously donated by Sir Shiu-kin Tamo, Č.B.E., LL,D., J,P., K.SUJ. (A). (1) Tong Fuk Dental Clinic-A, ans-chair dental clinic to serve South Lantau.

(2) Government-assisted

(1) Extension to Shek Kwu Chou Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts--Extension designed to provide treatment facilities for 500 drug addicts, double the previous capacity of the centre.

II. PROJECTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

(1) New Lai Chi Kok Hospital-A new general, geriatric and infectious diseases hospital of some 1,360 beds. Site formation complete. Construction of Sub-structure in hand. Expected completion date is 1972.

(ii) New Convalescent Block, Kowloon Hospital--A block of almost 600 beds for convalescent patients from Queen Elizabeth Hospital and with a psychiatric and a paraplegic unit being erected in the grounds of the existing Kowloon Hospital. Construction in hand. Expected completion date is August/September 1970. To be named West Wing, Kowloon Hospital. (ii) Queen Mary Hospital, Alteration to Existing Main Hospital Building-A five-phase alteration programme designed to increase the hospital's bed capacity by 454 beds thus giving a total of 1,086 beds. First four phases complete and fifth in progress. Expected completion date is April/May 1970,

(iv) Redevelopment of Medical Institutions, Sai Ying Por-A redevelopment intended to provide a rehabilitation centre for Hong Kong Island 10 reprovision in new and suitable accommodation the Western Maternal and Child Health Centre, the headquarters of the Mental Health Service, and the Hong Kong Psychiatric Ceritre, and to provide a central denial labora- tory. Expected completion date is late 1970.

[V) Shu Lam Hospital for the Mentally Subnormal-A 200 bed hospital at Siu Lam, New Territories, to provide accommodation for the severely retarded. Expected completion date is 1970.

(vi) Kowloon Hospital-Additional staff quarters for senior and resident medical

staff.

(vii) Government Laboratory-Additional space for laboratory benches and

centralized air-conditioning system.
