Mr. JOHNSON moves the suspension of Article 32 of the Standing Orders. Mr. RYRIE seconds the motion, which is carried unanimously.
Mr. JOHNSON moves the first reading of a Bill entitled the Tramways Ordinance 1883, and states the objects and reasons of the Bill.
Mr. RYRIE seconds the motion.
The Bill is read a first time.
Mr. JOHNSON moves the suspension of articles 24 and 25 of the Standing Orders. Mr. RYRIE seconds the motion, which is carried unanimously. Mr. JOHNSON moves the second reading of the Bill.
Mr. RYRIE seconds the motion, which is carried unanimously. The Bill is read a second time, and the Council goes into Committee on the Bill.
The sections of the Bill are read seriatim, and consideration of sections 2, 20 and 24 is postponed.
