The Council meets this day, at half-past 2 P.M., pursuant to adjournment. The Minutes of the Council held on the 15th Instant, are read and confirmed. The Interpretation Bill is read a second time, and, after the adoption of certain amendments
made in Committee, passed, bearing the Title of "An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, for embodying in One Ordinance the Definition of Words and Expressions ordinarily adopted in different Ordinances and Rules of Court," being "No. 1 of 1867."
The Naval Yard Police Force Bill is read a second time, committed, and passed, bearing the Title of "An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, for the Establishment and Regulation of a Naval Yard Police Force," being "No.2 of 1867."
The Supplementary Estimates Bill for 1866 is read a second time, and committed. The following Votes are then agreed to : -

The Appropriation Bill being in accordance with the foregoing Votes, is then passed, bearing the Title of "An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof to authorize the Appropriation of a Supplementary Sum not exceeding One hundred and Twenty-five thousand Dollars to defray the Charges of the Year 1866," being "No. 3 of 1867."
The Gunpowder Storage Bill is read a second time, amended in Committee, and passed bearing the Title of "An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to regulate the Importation and Storage of Gunpowder," being "No. 4 of 1867."
The Markets Bill is read second time, and committed.
Sections 1 to 5 agreed to.
Sections 6 being read and discussed, the Chief Justice proposes as an amendment that the words "guilty of a Misdemeanor and" be struck out; and the proposed amendment being seconded by the Colonial Treasurer, -
His Excellency puts the Question, that the words proposed to be struck out stand part of the Clause.

His Excellency then adjourns the Council at half-past 4 o’clock, to Tuesday the 4th Proximo, at 2.30 P.M.
