VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF HONGKONG. No. 7 OF 1865.
WEDNESDAY, 14TH JUNE, 1865.
PRESENT:
His Excellency the ACTING GOVERNOR and all the Members, except Mr. CHOMLEY, absent at Shanghai.
The Council met to-day, pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the Council held on the 3rd Instant, were read and approved.
His Excellency pointed out a verbal amendment which had been made in Section 7 of Ordinance No. 5 of 1865 (now in the Printer's hands), and the Council agreed to it.
The ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE presented the Report of the Select Committee on the Bill against Offences relating to the Coin, and the same having been received,─
The Bill was read a second time, discussed in Committee, and amended.
The ACTING GOVERNOR then put the Question, that this Bill, as amended, to pass, and that the Title be─"An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the Enactments in Force in this Colony against Offences relating to the Coin."
Debate ensued.

Question carried,─the Ordinance being Numbered "No. 10 of 1865."
The Criminal Enactments Repeal Bill was read a second time, and, after the adoption of certain amendments proposed in Committee, was passed.─It bore the following Title:─"An Ordinance to repeal certain Enactments which have been consolidated in several Ordinances relating to Criminal Offences,"─being "No.
11 of 1865."
The Bill for Security from Violence was read a second time, committed and passed,─ bearing the Title of─"An Ordinance for the further Security of the Residents in this Colony from personal Violence,"─and being "No. 12 of 1865."
The ACTING GOVERNOR stated that the Bill for the conditional Rendition of Chinese Pirates would be published in next Saturday's Gazette.
The Council then adjourned sine die.
