His Excellency the ACTING GOVERNOR, and all the Members.
The Council met to-day, pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the Council held on the 16th Instant, were read and approved.
The Public Carriages Bill, as amended by the Attorney General, was read a second time;
And the Council went into Committee upon the said Bill.
Sections 1 and 2 amended, and agreed to.
Section 3,—Blank filled up, and Section adopted.
Section 1 recommitted, amended and agreed to.
Sections 4 to 6 amended, and agreed to.
Section 7 agreed to.
Sections 8 to 10 amended, and agreed to.
Section 11 postponed.
Section 12 amended, and agreed to.
Section 13,—Blanks filled up, and Section adopted.
Section 14 amended, and agreed to.
Section 15 postponed.
Sections 16 and 17 agreed to.
Preamble amended and agreed to.
Ordered, that consideration of the Bill in Committee be resumed at the next meeting of the Council.
Read a first time a Bill, entitled “An Ordinance to apply a Sum not exceeding Four hundred and Seventy-five thousand Dollars to the Police Service of the year 1864.”
The Council adjourned to Wednesday, the 8th Proximo, at noon.
