Wednesday, 26th August. 1857

The Acting Attorney General was present by special summons.

The Council met to-day pursuant to adjournment.

The minutes of Council held on the 20th August were read and approved.

The Consideration of the Market Ordinance was resumed.

The Acting Attorney General handed in a new clause to replace clause VI., in accordance with the resolution of the last meeting, which being read, was amended and passed.

Clauses VII to XII were then considered seriatim, amended and passed.

Clauses XIII amended, and on the motion of the Honorable Mr. Jardine, the consideration of this clause as amended, was deferred for next meeting of Council.

Council adjourned to Friday the 28th August at l P.M.
