The Honorable The Chief Justice,

The Honorable The Attorney General,

The Honorable J. F. Edger, Esquire.

The Council met to day pursuant to adjournment.

The Minutes of the last Council were read and approved.

Read a second time, and passed, the Consular Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to explain the Law as to Removals of Prisoners", being No. 2 of 1856.

Read a second time, and passed, the Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to explain certain enactments relating to shipping", being No. 9 of 1856.

Read a second time, and passed, the Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance for Lis Pendens and Purchasers", being No. 10 of 1856.

The above Ordinances to be published in the next Government Gazette.

It was ordered that publication should be given, for general information, also in the next Gazette, to the 3 following Draft Ordinances, namely:-

"An Ordinance for lighting the City of Victoria", (as amended).

"An Ordinance to regulate Chinese Burials, and to prevent certain nuisances within the "Colony of Hong Kong."

"An Ordinance for the admission of Candidates to the Rolls of Practitioners in the "Supreme Court."

The Honorable The Chief Justice objected to the provisions of the last named Ordinance, and the Council adjourned till Monday next the 2nd Proximo, at one o'clock.
