Present:

His Excellency The Governor,

The Honorable The Lieutenant Governor,

The Honorable The Chief Justice,

The Honorable The Attorney General,

The Honorable J. F. Edger, Esquire.

The Council met to day by special summons.

The Minutes of the last Council were read and approved.

Read a first time Draft Consular Ordinance "to explain the Law as to removal of Prisoners".

The following Draft Ordinances for Hongkong, namely:-

"An Ordinance to explain certain enactments relating to shipping";-

"An Ordinance for lighting the City of Victoria";-

"An Ordinance to regulate Chinese Burials, and to prevent certain Nuisances within the "Colony of Hongkong;"-

"An Ordinance for Lis Pendens and purchasers;"-

"An Ordinance for the admission of candidates to the Rolls of Practitioners in the Supreme "Court;"-

were read a first time, and ordered to be printed; and it was agreed that copies of them should be circulated amongst the Honorable Member, previous to the next meeting of Council, which, was fixed for Thursday, the 29th instant, at 1 P.M. The Council adjourned accordingly.
