Present:

His Excellency The Governor,

The Honorable The Lieutenant Governor,

The Honorable The Chief Justice,

The Honorable The Attorney General,

The Honorable C. B. Hillier, Esquire,

The Honorable J. F. Edger, Esquire.

No Meeting of Council having taken place on the 12th instant, in consequence of the Chief Justice's absence at the Supreme Court, the Council, met to day by Special Summons.

The Minutes of the last Council were read and approved.

Read a second time, amended, and passed, the Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance for the "Amendment of Procedure in Civil and Criminal cases", being No. 5 of 1856.

Read a second time, amended, and passed, the Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to extend "the Criminal Procedure Ordinance No.4 of 1852", being No. 6 of 1856.

Read a second time, amended, and passed, the Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to extend "to this Colony certain Enactments and General Orders for reforming Procedure in the High "Court of Chancery and the Offices thereof", being No. 7 of 1856.

Resolved that these Ordinances be published in the next Government Gazette, and that the Council do adjourns till Wednesday the 26th instant, at one P.M. precisely.
