LegCo Hansard 創例局 定例局 立法局議事錄 All

16th June, 1852.

Present:

His Excellency The acting Governor,

The Honorable The acting Chief Justice,

The Honorable The Colonial Treasurer,

The Honorable David Jardine, Esquire.

The Council met today by Special Summons.

The Minutes of the last Council were read and approved.

Read a Second time the ordinance "to amend the Law of Evidence".

Read a second time the ordinance "to facilitate the administration of Criminal Justice".

A discussion took place on certain points in the latter ordinance to which objections were raised by the acting Chief Justice and Mr. Jardine, and the further consideration of them was postponed by consent, to the next meeting of the Council.

Mr. Jardine brought to the notice of Council the inconvenience that resulted to members in consequence of the present arrangements for their attendance – he thought it would be better to summon the members when they were to meet and not to intimate when they were not required. It was accordingly Resolved that upon every meeting of Council for the future a Summons should be sent to each member.

(Signed) Mr. Jervois

Read and approved this 29th day of June, 1852.

(Signed) Charles St George Cleverly,

for the Clerk of Councils.
