The Council met today by special summons.
The minutes of the last Council were read and approved.
Read the 1st time Draft of an ordinance, entitled "An ordinance to amend the ordinance No. "2 of 1845, entitled 'An ordinance to raise an assessed Rate on Lands, Houses, and "'Premises, within the Colony of Hongkong, for the upholding of the requisite Police "'Force therein,'" which was ordered to be sent round to the Honorable Members.
