Present:
His Excellency The Governor,
The Honorable the Chief Justice,
The Honorable the Acting Attorney General.
The non-attendance of the Chief-Justice on Thursday last, the 2nd Instant, a Council day at the Council Board General D'Aguilar being absent at Macao prevented a Meeting of the Council being held on that day, and in consequence the Council was specially summoned for this Meeting, to insure the Chief Justice's attendance on the occasion.
The Minutes of the last council were read and approved.
Read a second time and passed, ordinance No. 6 of 1847, entitled "An ordinance for "extending the summary jurisdiction of Police Magistrates and Justices of the Peace "within the Colony of Hongkong," which was ordered to be published in the Government Gazette.
