LegCo Hansard 創例局 定例局 立法局議事錄 All

4th February, 1847.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor,

The Honorable the Chief Justice,

The Honorable the Acting Attorney General.

The Minutes of the last Council were read and approved.

Consideration was given to Draft of Table of Fees proposed by the Honorable the Chief Justice to be taken and allowed in all matters and proceedings in the Supreme Court of Hongkong by Attornies Solicitors and Proctors therein. The Honorable the Acting Attorney General having suggested an increase as to several items, he was accordingly requested to make notes thereof for further consideration. It was resolved that the proposed Table of Fees should be annexed to, and published with the Revised Rules of Court, when the same shall have been submitted to the Council for approval, with the amendments ordered by Her Majesty's Government.

As the serving of Writs by Her Majesty's Consular officers on board of Opium ships (which trading contrary to the Treaty never enter the limits of the Consular Ports) is highly objectionable, it was resolved that a clause should be introduced in the Rules of Court, restricting the service of all writs by Consular officers to the limits of their respective Ports.

Read and approved this 25th day of February, 1847.

(signed) L. d'Almada e Castro,

Clerk of Councils.
