The minutes of the last Council were read and approved.
Read a Despatch from Lord Stanley No. 114 on the subject of the Ordinance No. 1, for the suppression of the Triad and other secret societies, which was taken into consideration, and the Honble the Attorney General was requested to amend the Ordinance in question in accordance with the instructions contained in Lord Stanley's Despatch.
The draft of an Ordinance for the Naturalization of Aliens was handed to the Honble the Attorney General for the purpose of being examined and considered by him prior to its first reading in connection with a recent enactment relating to Aliens in England.
The draft of an Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 9 of 1844 for the better regulation of the Harbor and Waters of Hong Kong, was ordered to be sent round to members.
