In accordance with Instructions received from Lord Stanley His Excey the Governor informed The Honble The Attorney General that he had appointed him a Member of the Legislative Council in lieu of Mr. Martin who had ceased to be a Member of Council and Mr. Sterling having been sworn in took his seat accordingly.
The minutes of the last Council were read & appd.
The Police Assessment Act was again taken into consideration and having been read a second time was passed, the printing thereof to be deferred till the Report of the Committee appointed to examine into the value of the Property to be assessed by it, could be sent in.
