The Honorable Major Caine
Mr. Sterling as Legal Adviser was summoned to attend and was present accordingly.
The Council reconsidered the Ordinance for establishing a Supreme Court of Judicature in this Colony with reference to altering the amount originally named as sufficient to entitle any party to a Writ of Error.
The Clause for giving an appeal in all cases involving the rights of the Crown was also considered.
And with reference to the amount entitling any person to apply to the summary Jurisdiction of the Court It was Resolved that the sum of £20 shall be the maximum. The Ordinance was then read and passed and ordered to be printed.
The Ordinance for the Registration of the Inhabitants of this Colony was read a second time and passed.
