Read and passed Ordinance No. 5 of 1844 entitled "An Ordinance for the presentation of Cleanliness and good order within the Colony of Hongkong."

Read and passed Ordinance No. 6 of 1844 entitled "An Ordinance to authorize His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong to refer all civil actions and suits to Arbitration."

Read and passed Ordinance No. 7 of 1844 entitled "An Ordinance for removing doubts respecting the application to Hongkong of the Laws and Statutes of England relating to usury and to limit and define the rate of interest which may be recovered in cases where it hath not been previously agreed on between the parties."

Read and passed Ordinance No. 8 of 1844 entitled "An Ordinance for prohibiting the distillation of spirits within the Colony of Hongkong."
