The Council assembled for the first time.
Present His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong
The Honorable Major General
D'Aguilar C.B Lieut Governor
The Honorable Major Caine
Chief Magistrate of Hongkong
The Honorable Major General D'Aguilar and the Honorable Major Caine took the Oaths and their seats as first and third Members respectively of the Council.
Richard Burgass Esquire was sworn in as Clerk of the Legislative Council.
It was Resolved that the Council should meet on each and every successive Wednesday at one o'clock P.M. at the Government House.
