Long Service Award
95 employees were qualified for the 'Long Service Award of 30 years of service'. 370 employees were qualified for the 'Long Service Award of 20 years of service'.
Loyal Service Award
236 employees were commended for rendering good service in 1996. This included helping to put out small bus fires, helping passengers to locate lost properties, helping to prevent vandalism, etc.
Good Service Annual Award
3,031 bus captains were eligible for the annual award. The criterion of entitlement is no disciplinary action relating to service during the period 1 September 1995 to 31 August 1996.
Safe Driving Annual Bonus
3,478 bus captains were eligible for this annual bonus. The criterion of entitlement is having no traffic accident during the period from 1 September 1995 to 31 August 1996.
Safe Driving Award
1,188 bus captains were eligible for the five-year accident-free award. 731 bus captains were eligible for the ten-year accident-free award.
Sporting and Recreational Activities
KMB joined the Corporate Games organized by the Urban Council in various sporting activities such as soccer, badminton, swimming, track and field and long distance runs.
The Company Dragon Boat Team achieved good results in open competitions, attaining the Championship of an International Race in Japan. Locally, the team came first in the 'Sai Kung Long Distance Dragon Boat Race', second in both the 'Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club Invitation Race' and the 'Epson Inter-Company Championship Race'.
Two representative teams of the Company joined the 'Community Chest Corporate Challenge 10K Run' to help raise funds for charity.
The Staff Welfare Section continues to organise recreational activities for the staff. The activities included Sports Day, Swimming Gala, Karaoke Competition, Football Tournament, Badminton Tournament and picnics.
