OPEN-TOP CARTOON BUSES AND SMART BUSES

The Company sent open-top Cartoon Buses and Smart Buses to participate in community events and Road Safety Campaigns. In addition to encouraging children to be courteous and intelligent passengers, the buses also provide the Company with an opportunity to build links with the public. In 1994, Cartoon Buses and Smart Buses were sent to 21 displays in various districts. In addition, buses were sent to participate in 26 community events for charitable or special purposes in 1994.

CODE OF CONDUCT

With the assistance of the Independent Commission Against Corruption, the Company has drawn up and implemented a Code of Conduct for Directors and employees. Each member of staff has been given a copy of this code.

BUS CAPTAIN OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

The Bus Captain of The Year Competition is held annually at the Shatin Depot with a funfair for the public to enjoy. The competition is designed to promote the driving excellence of our bus captains and competitors are judged on the basis of quality of service, driving safety, work behaviour, and attitude towards passengers. This year from amongst over 6,400 bus captains, 31 were selected to participate in the event. The competition was won by Mr Pun Chi Keung who has been with the Company for 12 years. Mr Pun received a cash award of HK$10,000 and a commemorative cup for his well deserved win. In addition, Ms Chan Sau Chun won the separate competition for Single- Deck Bus Captains. Ms Chan received a cash award of HK$3,000 and a commemorative

cup.
