During the year, the Company donated HK$1 million and staff donated HK$210,900 to the Operation Relief '94, a fund-raising campaign organised by TVB, to support the flood victims of Southern China. The Company also donated HK$210,000 to the Community Chest through their Corporate Contribution Programme to support the needs of the underprivileged and the unfortunate in
Hong Kong. KMB received a Gold Award in recognition of its contribution. In addition, the Company participated in the 1994 Community Chest Kowloon Walk for Millions and Dress Casual Day and raised a further HK$262,550 for the Community Chest. The Company has also supported many other charitable bodies and community activities through donations and the provision of free bus body advertising to various campaigns organized by Government and
other charitable organizations, including donating
HK$200,000 to the 1994 Governor's Award for Industry, HK$110,000 to the Festival of Asian Children's Art, HK$100,000 to the World Vision of
Hong Kong, HK$30,000 to support the Tung Wah
Charity Walkathon and two 24-seater Toyota Coasters to the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals for
serving their patients and staff members.
