NEW ROUTES

The route network further expanded during the year. A total of 19 new bus routes were inaugurated. Nine of these serve the demand arising from new developments. One is an additional airport service to Kowloon Tong MTR Station. Another new route deploying

air-conditioned single-deck buses was introduced as the Nathan Shopper Route for the convenience of shoppers along the Nathan Road Corridor. In addition, three air- conditioned special services (including one cross-harbour service) were introduced to provide commuters with an attractive alternative to crowded MTR compartments during peak hours. One special morning route is also operated to cater for the high morning peak demand. Furthermore, two new all-night services as well as two special routes which

operate during the Lunar New Year and Ching

Ming Festivals were introduced.
