60th Anniversary Celebration

六十週年誌慶

1993 was the 60th Anniversary of the

Company. The climax of the colourful

programmes arranged to mark this

special occasion was the Bus

Wonderland held at Victoria Park. As

well as bringing fun and laughter to the

public, the Funfair also emphasised the

importance of road safety to the public.

一九九三年乃本公司之六十週年紀念。

為此特別時刻,本公司安排一連串多彩

多姿之節目。節目之高潮是於維多利亞

公園舉行之「公益慈善巴士城」,它爲

公眾人士帶來歡笑,並透過一系列之展

覽及活動強調道路安全對公眾之重要。

本公司籍是次特別節目為香港公益金籌

得港幣二百萬元。

activities. In aid of the Community

Chest of Hong Kong, the Company was

able to raise HK$2,000,000 from this

particular event.

Franchise Extension

The Company's current franchise will

expire on 31 August 1997. The

Company's three applications to extend

the franchise for a further two years

each, i.e. up to 31 August 2003, are

awaiting approval.

Traffic Congestion

Traffic congestion continues to adversely

affect the reliability of the Company's

services. In the year 1993, trips lost as a

result of road works and traffic

congestion increased by approximately

18 percent. This meant that some 1030
