RESULTS FOR 1991

wish to report that the Company's bus

operating profit attributable to Shareholders

for the financial year ended 31st December.

1991, after a transfer of $30.6 million to the Development Fund in accordance with the provisions of the Scheme of Control, amounted to $298.3 million (1990: $266.7 million). This represents an increase of 11.8 as compared with 1990. Earnings per share for the year were 74 cents (1990; oo cents). The accumulated shortfall of permitted return brought forward from the previous years $41.5 million. The shortfall is recoverable from the Development Fund in subsequent years subject to agreement by the Government.

DIVIDEND

At the forthcoming Ordinary Yearly Meeting. the Directors will recommend the payment of a final dividend of 43 cents per share for the year ended 31st December, 1901 (1990: 39 cents per share). An interim dividend of 15 cents per share was paid on 15th October, 1991 (1990: 13 cents per share), thus the dividends for the year will amount to 58 cents per share, totalling $234.1 million (1990: $209,9 million).

FARE ADJUSTMENT

The Government responded to our request for a fare adjustment by granting an average fare increase of 14.7% that took effect as of 31st March. 1991.
