INCREASING PRODUCTIVITY

Inflation and rising costs, coupled with a lower fare increase, meant that last

year KMB had to take drastic measures to cut costs and boost productivity. Apart from

suspending further land acquisition, work

procedures in the administration and

supporting functions were further

streamlined. During 1990, we, by

increasing utilisation of computers,

reviewed and reorganised workload

among staff members to promote efficiency.

There was a net decrease of 262

administrative and maintenance staff

between March and December.

提高經營效益

由於通貨膨脹、成本上升及車費增幅 偏低,九巴於去年須採取果斷之措施削減 成本及提高經營效益。除了暫時停止 進一步購買土地外,行政方面之工作程序 及支持架構更趨簡化。本公司於一九九零 年透過增加電腦之應用和檢討及重整員工 之工作量,以提高效率。三月至十二月 期間,本公司減少了二百六十二名行政 人員及維修員工,該期間之招聘工作主要 是招聘車長,而全年之車長淨增數目為 二百二十七名。至十二月底,本公司共有

員工一萬零六百一十名。
