roof to minimize noise pollution. The KMB Bus Captains Training School is

also accommodated in this depot. Kowloon Bay Depot

The 231,125 square feet site at the

Kowloon Bay Reclamation area will be developed into a 3-storey bus depot

and a 4-storey office building with a total floor area of 753,420 square feet. The depot will be able to provide

parking and maintenance for a fleet of

497 buses. Construction of the

superstructure commenced in October

1988 and its completion is expected to

be in April 1990, at which time

on-street parking in Kwun Tong area

will be eliminated.

NEW TEMPORARY DEPOTS

Cheung Sha Wan Temporary Depot

A 88,380 square feet site at the

junction of Cheung Sha Wan Road and

Hing Wah Street was leased from the

Government and has been developed

for the parking of 76 buses. The depot became operational in November 1988

and has reduced on-street parking accordingly.

Tsing Yi Temporary Depot

A site of 248,670 square feet at Tsing

Yi Island was leased from the

Government from November 1988.

The site is being developed into a

depot for coin-collecting, refuelling, bus washing and parking for a fleet of 245

buses. The depot is expected to be

operational in mid 1989. It will help to

save dead mileage costs as well as to

alleviate some of our parking problems

in Tuen Mun and at the Lai Chi Kok Depot.

訓練學校亦設於該廠內。

九龍灣車廠

一幅位於九龍灣填海區面積二十三萬一千

一百二十五平方呎之土地將發展為

一座三層高之巴士車廠及一座四層高之

寫字樓,樓面總面積為七十五萬三千四百

二十平方呎。此車廠將為四百九十七輛

巴士提供泊車及維修設施。車廠上蓋建築

工程已於一九八八年十月展開,預計將於

一九九零年四月竣工,屆時觀塘區之巴士

將不再需要在路邊停泊。

新臨時車廠

長沙灣臨時車廠

本公司已向政府租賃一幅位於長沙灣道及

興華街交界處面積共八萬八千三百八十

平方呎之土地,並已將之發展為一個可

容納七十六輛巴士之停車場。此車廠

已於一九八八年十一月啟用,減少了路邊

泊車之需要。

靑衣臨時車廠

本公司由一九八八年十一月起向政府租賃

之一幅在青衣島面積二十四萬八千六百

七十平方呎之土地,這幅土地正發展為

一間臨時車廠,為二百四十五輛巴士進行

收集錢箱、補-

燃料、清洗及作為停泊

之地點。預計該車廠可於一九八九年中

啟用,屆時將可節省空車行駛之成本

支出,並可幫助減輕本公司在屯門及

荔枝角車廠之泊車問題。
