MORE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Taking that extra step to serve the

public better means getting involved. with community activities. KMB and its staff have supported numerous charity

functions in 1987, such as the ''Clean Hong Kong Campaign, the Employee Contribution Programme and the Hands Across The River'' Day organised by the Community Chest. Our staff both men and women also pedalled non-stop for 24 hours to raise funds for the disabled in the Pedal

'88 pedal car marathon organised by

the Hong Kong Round Table III.

Together with a donation of $31,065

from the staff and the Company to the Sir Edward Youde Fund, KMB has

raised over $111,443 for these various charity events.

As an added service to the public,

KMB put on || all-night routes on

Lunar New Year's Day in 1987. What's

more, with the sponsorship of Cinema.

City Co. Ltd., bus rides between

2 a.m. and 6 a.m. were free.

Last but not least, mindful of the fact that road safety is an important concern of everyone, KMB sponsored the Road Safety Quiz for elderly people and set up a Road Safety Game Stall in Tsuen Wan and Kwai Chung, where young children learnt about safety on the streets by means of games and the display.

參與社區活動亦即進一步服務社會。 本公司及本公司之員工在一九八七年內 會支持無數公益活動,例如“清潔香港”, 以及公益金舉辦之僱員募捐計劃及 “千手萬心公益金”等活動。本公司之 男女員工亦有在由香港圓桌會三號主辦之 一九八八年廿四小時慈善脚踏車籌款賽中 二十四小時不停踏車,為傷殘人士籌款。 連同本公司員工與本公司向尤德爵士 基金作出之三萬一千零六十五元捐款, 本公司在此等不同公益項目中籌得超過 十一萬一千四百四十三元。

作為對公眾人士之一項附加服務, 本公司於一九八七年農曆新年設有 十一條通宵巴士路線。再者,由於獲得 新藝城影業有限公司贊助,市民可於 凌晨二時至六時免費乘搭巴士。

最後,鑑於道路安全對所有人均十分 重要,本公司贊助為老人舉辦之道路 安全問答遊戲,並在荃灣及葵涌設有 道路安全遊戲攤位,讓兒童透過遊戲及 展覽認識道路安全問題。
