Customs declaration: One non-adhesive form and despatch note. Prohibitions: Letters; arms and parts thereof (including toy imitations); butane gas lighters and refills; dresses or dress material; jewellery, and precious metals, gold, silver, platinum, gold bullion; hats, umbrellas, handbags, toilet articles; wine, strong drinks; cakes; fruits; cigarettes, tobacco and smoking accessories; documents and books prejudicial to peace and public order; articles which can be used for espionage; germs; narcotics, opium pipes; counterfeit coins or imitations of money, bank-notes, promissory notes; revolvers, cannon powder; imitation stamps; ginseng; salt; plants, seeds; scales, machines or machinery for the manufacture of tobacco; live animals, silk worms; virulent and deadly poisons. Ordinary books, newspapers and periodicals are however admitted in any language, including Esperanto.
Restrictions: No parcel may contain items originating in Hong Kong or Japan of a total value exceeding US$20. No parcel containing goods originating in other countries may exceed US$50 in total value.
Articles of clothing and goods intended for the poor, forwarded in Gift, Red-Cross or Relief parcels by charitable organizations of foreign countries will be admitted. Packing and marking: Parcels containing articles of celluloid must be clearly marked in red with the word Celluloid.
Gift parcels: The contents must be limited to essential relief items: namely (a) clothing, medicines or similar articles; or (b) non-perishable foodstuffs (toys may be included). Both the parcel and the customs declaration must be clearly marked Gift Parcel, Unsolicited Gift.
