Prohibitions: Charged butane gas lighters and refills (uncharged lighters are admitted and should be declared as such on the customs declaration forms); cigarettes; contraceptives; fruit and fruit conserves; saccharin and similar prod- ucts; vegetables except onions, garlic and shallots; and vegetable conserves. Restrictions apply to the importation of: Arms; medicines; weights and measures. Parcels sent to military and naval personnel are not admitted if the address includes a sector postal number or the words Naval Post.

Import licences: The importation of parcels over 500 piastres in value is subject to the production of an import licence, and such parcels should not be despatched until the necessary licence has been obtained by the addressee.
