The prepaid rate is:
Hong Kong, China and Macau. 5 cents for each 2 lb. or part of 2 lb.
All other destinations.
Free.
The postage must be fully prepaid.
WEIGHT AND SIZE
The limit of weight is 15 lb.
The limits of size are:
British Commonwealth, territories under British Trusteeship, British Post Offices in the Persian Gulf; Burma, Israel, Jordan and Sudan (Republic of). 2 feet in length, 18 inches in width, 18 inches in depth.
All other countries. 3 feet in length, width and depth combined, but the greatest dimension must not exceed 2 feet.
Minimum
All destinations. 4 inches in length, 23 inches in width.
Packets in the form of a roll
Maximum
All destinations. The length and twice the diameter combined must not exceed 3 feet 3 inches, and the greatest dimension must not exceed 2 feet 8 inches.
DEFINITION
Papers of any kind, periodicals, and books, impressed in Braille or other special type for the use of the blind, may be sent.
MAKE-UP
The packets should conform to the regulations applicable to printed papers. In addition they should be clearly marked in the upper left-hand corner of the address side Blind Literature.
ADMISSIBLE ARTICLES
The following articles are also admitted free of postage as literature for the blind: Plates for embossing blind literature; and
Voice recordings and special paper intended solely for the use of the blind provided that they are sent by, or addressed to, an officially recognized institution for the blind.
